Tomorrowland is a Disney action-adventure movie directed by Brad Bird, starring George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy and Hugh Laurie.

Former boy-genius Frank (Clooney) and ordinary teen Casey (Robertson) travel to a place somewhere unknown in time and space called Tomorrowland, where their actions directly affect the world on Earth they know today, and the future of their existence.

When I first saw the trailers for this, I thought it was a really cool concept, and I was actually quite excited to see what the story was about and of course the movie as a whole.

The movie started out cute and actually quite interesting, but as the film progressed it seemed to take a direction that was quite hard to follow. The writing style used seemed to be all over the board, leaving the viewer sitting back wondering "what just happened?".

The storyline was a intriguing and cool concept which was the main thing that interested me about the movie. Although the utopia-gone-bad plot is a little played, it was still an enjoyable concept. You could tell it wasn't an incredibly in-depth film (eg. Interstellar), ultimately suggesting that it was definitely meant for a younger audience, but it kept me interested to see what happened next.

The movies special effects were a little bit questionable though. They seemed to look pretty old school and didn't convey the message of "the future" as well as I think they could.

One thing I was pretty happy with was the acting, and the film work. The overall acting quality was good and the film work was relatively fitting the the movie, so I was generally pleased with both. Although those aspects were pleasing, the character development was not. I will say I was quite disappointed to see all of the gaps in the seemly basic backstory of each character. I felt like the storyline of some of the characters, including Casey, were a little flat.

Honestly, the development of Tomorrowland's environment was really bad. I was left with no real explanation to what "incredible" technologies were inside, or what the world inside Tomorrowland was like. I felt like the environmental design was a bit lacking as well because it was very bland and didn't strike me as "futuristic".

Long story short, Tomorrowland was good, but not great. Although I think it was a very imaginative concept, the execution was poor, making it much less enjoyable than expected.
