In this new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an adventure through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history.
I didn't go into this movie expecting much, due to the fact that I didn't really know the plot. I knew it was a Smurfs movie and it looked cute but other than that I was totally lost on what it was actually about.
After watching, the plot was actually refreshing and good in general. It was pure and had a happy ending that was rewarding. It ended on a comfortable note, with just enough story to keep you engaged and interested.
Everything about this movie was put together nicely and was delivered in a fun, lighthearted way. The plot was just cute and exciting enough to stay interesting and the movie itself was just long enough.
The soundtrack was fitting and nicely done along with the visuals of the film itself. This would be one I’d recommend to go see with kids/family to see a light hearted and pure kids story unfold. It was simple, and would be easy for a child to follow and enjoy, as well as the fact that some adults might get a kick out of it too.
