Hot Pursuit

Hot Pursuit is a 2015 action-comedy directed by Anne Fletcher and written by David Feeney and John Quaintance.

The film stars Reese Witherspoon as police officer Rose Cooper (Witherspoon) and Sofía Vergara as Daniella Riva.

Cooper gets assigned to protect a drug dealer and his wife Daniella Riva (Vergara), who are planning to testify against a drug lord. The pick up goes bad fast and Cooper has to protect Mrs. Riva from criminals and suspicious dirty cops at all costs.

The premise of the movie was predictable, but not too predictable to the point where it was boring. Because of the polar opposites between characters, I think the movie didn't flow as well as it could in its storyline and its character back stories etc.

Going into this movie I thought that it'd be pretty cheesy based on what I saw in the trailer, and my assumption was pretty accurate. Within the first 15 minutes of the movie starting, they were already reusing jokes.

Jokes such as Cooper's height and Riva's age were ones that were comical enough to bear, but some were just so overused and hard to digest over and over again.

There were some moments between Witherspoon and Vergara that were pretty cute or funny, however, there were also a good number of moments that were either bland or just stupid. One thing that really stood out was the overuse of Sofía Vergara's accent as a joke, as it became old and kind of annoying that they kept coming back to it again and again.

In short, the movie was not one that I particularly cared for, and it definitely wouldn't be one I would recommend.
